Dentium Successfully Hosts “From Incision to Suture” Seminar, Delivering Case-Based Training in Fundamental Surgical Techniques
One-Day Cross Training Program Covering Flap Design, Suturing, and Implant Placement

Dentium recently hosted its “From Incision to Suture” seminar on May 10 at the seminar hall of its Gwanggyo headquarters,
providing clinicians with hands-on education in fundamental surgical techniques ranging from incision and suturing to implant placement based on real clinical cases.
Rather than focusing solely on theoretical instruction, the seminar was structured around the analysis and reproduction of actual surgical cases presented by the speaker,
allowing participants to gain a more practical understanding of the complete clinical workflow.
The program was led by Dr. Geun-Young Jang (Seoul Highan Dental Clinic, Gwangjin Branch),
who conducted the seminar as a coaching-oriented hands-on course with direct guidance provided throughout each participant’s training process.
During the morning session, the program focused on understanding flap design strategies according to different clinical indications and anatomical regions.
Participants practiced designing incision lines and surgical access approaches by sketching flap designs based on 10 different clinical cases.
The session also introduced minimally invasive curved incision techniques aimed at reducing incision size and minimizing tissue trauma in clinical practice.
Through these exercises, attendees were able to develop a more intuitive understanding of surgical access and tissue management principles.
Basic suturing education was also included in the morning curriculum.
Using chicken feet suture models, participants practiced two-handed suturing techniques while learning key principles related to tension control and soft tissue stabilization.
The hands-on training helped attendees understand how suturing plays a critical role in completing the surgical workflow following incision and flap management.

In the afternoon session, participants moved on to implant placement and soft tissue management hands-on exercises utilizing Dentium products.
Using bright Implant Tissue Level implants and Collagen Graft x1D, the course introduced simplified treatment concepts that could be applied quickly and efficiently across a variety of clinical situations without requiring complex bone grafting procedures.
Practical techniques for dome-shaped augmentation using OSTEOEN™ Xeno Collagen were also demonstrated.
In addition, participants practiced double-layer techniques utilizing Collagen Membrane Hard alongside soft tissue management protocols,
gaining practical insight into material selection and application strategies according to different clinical scenarios.
The seminar further expanded beyond basic incision and suturing techniques by incorporating implant placement protocols for 3-unit bridge restorations using bright Implant Bone Level systems.
By integrating both surgical and prosthetic considerations into the training program, the seminar reflected the comprehensive treatment flow encountered in real clinical practice, contributing to a high level of participant engagement.
A Dentium representative commented, “‘From Incision to Suture’ was designed to allow clinicians to simultaneously strengthen their understanding of fundamental surgical techniques while applying them directly in practical training environments.”
The representative added, “By naturally integrating Dentium products throughout the entire workflow—from flap design and suturing techniques to implant placement—the program also helped participants better understand the clinical concepts behind Dentium’s treatment solutions.”
Dentium announced plans to continue expanding its foundational education programs in the second half of the year through additional seminars with Dr. Geun-Young Jang, further supporting clinicians in systematically strengthening their core surgical skills.
